The band spent much of 2002 recording jessica marttila Absolution with producer Rich Costey.[1] The album was recorded in studios in both Los Angeles and London.[1]

The biggest concert of the tour was two nights that they played in the new Wembley Stadium on 16 and 17 June 2007. They were the first band to play at the newly built stadium, and it was the biggest gig that band had ever played as on their first night tickets sold out.[36] The show album cover meaning muse black holes and revelations incorporated extensive special effects that included huge satellite dishes, "futuristic" antennas, giant white balls and thousands of lights.[36] The encore included two acrobats that floated high above the crowd suspended on floating white balloons.[36] Songs from the two nights were recorded and released later as a live album called HAARP.

The driving force behind Muse's lyrical and musical composition is the vocal style of lead singer/pianist/guitarist Matthew Bellamy. Popular devices in their songs include singing with vibrato and in falsetto ("Supermassive Black Hole", "Knights of Cydonia", "Ruled by Secrecy", "Micro Cuts", & "Showbiz", among others), the use of arpeggiations ("Take a Bow", "Starlight", concert rockall luxembourg "Butterflies and Hurricanes", "New Born", & "Bliss", among others), and large or octave jumps in melody lines ("Map of the Problematique", "Stockholm Syndrome", "Space Dementia", & "Citizen Erased", among others). Some of the band's songs, most notably older B-sides, express a more esoteric side in terms of guitar riffs and vocals ("Execution Commentary", "Agitated", "Ashamed", & "Yes Please", among others).
