It is possible that during 2005, Howard's endorsement contract with Tama Drums expired as a set of orange and red Ludwig Vistalites (acrylic drums) were used in the USA musilac vidéo cut of the Stockholm Syndrome video clip (and another character in the talk show was using Pearl drums). As video clips receive much public exposure it is usually against the terms of a contract to use a competitors product. This would tend to suggest that the Tama contract had reached its conclusion.

John Leckie was brought in to produce the band's first record, Showbiz. The album showcased the band's soft style, and the lyrics made reference to the difficulties they had encountered while trying to establish themselves in Teignmouth.^[7]^{album cover meaning muse black holes and revelations id="cite_ref-KerrangReview_7-1" class="reference">[8]}

Many Muse songs are recognizable by lead vocalist Matthew Bellamy's often falsetto voice and use of vibrato. As a guitarist, Bellamy often utilizes arpeggio and pitch-shift effects to create a more "electric" sound, citing Jimi Hendrix and Tom Morello as influences Matthew Bellamy wallpapers for this method.^[12]

Maverick Records, who previously matthew bellamy gaia polloni photos released Showbiz in the United States, asked the band to remove the falsetto vocals for the album's release, claiming that their presence would discourage radio play. Muse's refusal saw them part ways with the label, meaning that the album was not released in the US until 2005.^{[citation needed]}

Maverick had reservations about Bellamy's vocal style on this album (considering it not to be "radio-friendly"^{pictures of Gaia Polloni to reliable sources from December 2008" style="white-space:nowrap;">[citation needed]}), and asked Muse to change some of their songs prior to U. S. release. The band refused and left Maverick, resulting in Maverick's decision not to release Origin of Symmetry in the U. S. The album was finally released in the U. S. on 20 September 2005, after Muse signed to Warner.

Muse blend alternative, hard rock, progressive rock, classical music and electronica and are well known for their energetic and visually dazzling live performances.^[3] On 16–17 June 2007 pics of Giai Polloni became the first band to sell out the newly built Wembley Stadium in London.^[4] Muse has released five studio albums, Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes & Revelations (2006) and The Resistance (2009). Muse have also released one live album, HAARP (2008) and one compilation album Hullabaloo (2002). The first disc contains a collection of B-sides recorded between March 1999 and October 2001. The second disc features 11 live songs recorded on 28–29 October 2001 at 'le Zenith' in Paris. Bellamy also makes an appearance as a playable character in the fifth installment of Guitar Hero 5 which features the playable song Plug In Baby.^[5]

Muse formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994 under the alias of Rocket Baby Dolls. Still under the alias Rocket Baby Dolls they won the school's battle of the bands which led them to take the band seriously, and decided to change their name to a more "professional" name, Muse. The band is composed of Matthew Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums and percussion). Muse met at Teignmouth Community College where Bellamy had been in a number of bands previously including Carnage Mayhem and Gothic Plague with drummer Dominic Howard. When members of Gothic Plague left due to other interests, Bellamy and Howard asked Wolstenholme to join. Muse struggled to establish themselves during their early years but have since gone on to enjoy worldwide commercial success.

Muse have been involved with Teenage Cancer Trust and have performed at the Royal Albert Hall where they donated all money made from the merchandise stands to the charity. On the 25th of September 2008 all three members of the band were awarded Honorary Doctorates of the Arts by Plymouth University.

Muse have cited Queen as an influence. ^[51] Queen guitarist Brian May has praised Muse's work, calling the band "extraordinary musicians" who "let their madness show through, always a good thing in an artist."
